Dr. Multhaupt is a Past President of the Histochemical Society and is currently Associate Professor at Copenhagen University, Denmark at the Biotech Research and Innovation Centre. She received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at the University of Stuttgart and was previously on the faculty for ten years at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University and the Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She also served on the faculty at Imperial College London for seven years.
She has research interests in technical developments in immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, confocal microscopy, diagnostic immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology and basic research in cell-extracellular matrix signaling and tumor angiogenesis.
She has organized and participated in many Continuing Medical Education Courses, and participated in the organization of national and international meetings. She has been responsible for teaching molecular pathology and immunohistochemistry to medical technicians, residents and research fellows.
